Soccer training – Goal shots - Exercise:

Soccer drill procedure

You often have to react at lightning speed to get a shot at goal. We‘ll try to simulate this with this drill. The players who are directly involved in the goal scoring process, don’t know beforehand who will shoot. The two constant passers will decide who will shoot once in front of the rectangle. The players in the penalty area then only have to conduct a short double-cross before shooting.

Description

We need two groups, which we’ll position to the left and right of both rectangles. The soccer drill begins with one player on each side starting into the rectangle. These players run from one rectangle to the next, always keeping their eye on the ball.

In front of both rectangles, two players constantly pass a ball between themselves. These players have fixed positions and are swapped out regularly. Suddenly, one of the passers decides to pass the ball to a teammate in the rectangle. The receiver immediately plays the ball onwards to his partner in the other rectangle and runs through the gap between both markers in the center of the goal. He receives a pass back while running and shoots at goal.

Variations

- The ball is passed back and forward before the final pass

Soccer coach tips

- The final passes should be conducted without delay
