Soccer training – Goalkeeping - Exercise:

Previous exerciseForward RollNext exercise

Soccer drill procedure

In the previous drill, we offered a forward roll as a variation. Since we’re at it, we’ll intensify things and send our goalkeeper over the field. But please don’t overdo it; our goalkeeper needs some breaks to recover.

Description

Simple! The coach or a supervisor runs backwards, the goalkeeper runs forwards across the field. The ball is thrown to the goalkeeper, who catches it and then does a forward roll while holding the ball, before throwing it back to the thrower.

Variations

- Inaccurate throws!
- Done run a straight line, mix things up
- Make the distance shorter and longer

Soccer coach tips

- Good timing when throwing the ball to the goalkeeper
