Soccer drill procedure

This drill was recommended to us by a US soccer coach. With the help of our colleagues, we are currently developing a more comprehensive drill module for tactical training.

This tackling module also trains the goalkeeper. Therefore, we relocate the practice ground close to the goal. The players may try to outplay the goalkeeper.

You must be aware of the fact that this drill module will not work without an aggressive defense mindset.

Description

The "red" player stands with his back facing the goal and places the ball to the blue player in front of him. Then he runs around the cone next to him, to defend aggressively. The second "blue" player, farther away from the goal, runs towards the goal in the meantime and receives a pass. He tries to score a goal in whatever way possible.

Variations

- Sequence on the other side of the field
- The pass in front of the goal must be directly converted to a goal-shot

Soccer coach tips

- Demand intensive tackles!
