Soccer training – Dribbling - Double Square

easy Sports-Graphics 5.0

Soccer drill procedure

Start off with an easy diagonal speed dribble, then follow it up with another curved path. Alternating between close and loose ball control should come about automatically because the players want to finish the drill as quickly as possible.

The animation will explain it better than words can, so I'll skip a description.

- Two more groups may start from the other side of the outer square
- The left and right groups should switch sides afterward
- Different dribbling techniques
- A competitive aspect can be introduced

Soccer coach tips

- Push for increased speed
- Correct errors individually

Organisation of the soccer training drill

Category: Advanced training, children’s training, youth training, seniors
Minimum group size: 4
Maximum group size: 12
Materials required: Each player has a ball, 8 cones
Field size: Do not make the distances too close. Shorter distances make the soccer drill much harder.

Information: There are already more than 1,000 animations online at, as well as plenty of interesting articles by very well-known soccer experts.
